Guest jmrecanize Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place but i need a couple of answers that havent been answered elsewhere. The first is will the phone have a separate loudspeaker other than the earpiece, i find the SPV's loudspeaker as the earpiece wasn't loud at all, if the earpiece is the loudspeaker won't it be reduced/muffled by the clamshell design. Secondly i read that it will cost 848 swiss francs which converted is roughly £400. I'm assuming this is the cost of it sim free however what is your opinion on how much will the unit cost on Orange contract (£20-£25 monthly line rental). Thanx for any help.
Guest pembo Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 I aren't sure about the design of the phone in relation to the loud speaker, however your contract would be considered low tariff, so I'd expect you to have to pay £100 for it, or maybe more when its first released - obviously the amount will drop over time. I pay £75 a month and am hoping they'll give it me for free :P
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 I don't think the phone will have a separate speaker. If you want to use it as a media player you need to use headphones for decent audio quality. Having said that, I'm sure I've seen an SPV parked between 2 external speakers in the same way you'd set up your CD Walkman in your hotel room if that's what you want to use it for.

Guest Disco Stu Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 Ooh yes. Morpheus 2702 said : "Simon, you realise that your top picture is the sort of thing that would shift THOUSANDS of SPVs/SPVs E-100s? It is just the picture that gets gadget freaks saying 'wow, what's that?' " I get paid on Friday. Guess what I'm a-gonna buy ?! Cheers for the memory-jog Simon :P
Guest jmrecanize Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 I do use headphones when listening to the phones media player abilities, however the volume problem i am referring to is the ringtones, they are too quiet for my liking, i thought maybe there is a loudspeaker behind the divets on the front of the clamshell below the external screen but wasn't sure and was hoping to get an answer. I guess i'll just have to wait for the release to get a definate answer.
Guest jmrecanize Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 I can now confirm that the mpx220 does have a separate loudspeaker. I can confirm this by going here and downloading the internal pdf. It shows the loudspeaker behind the divets. Now i'll just have to wait for prices.
