Guest debully Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 as header - is this normal?...using the new Imate ROM and the latest ActiveSync. Trying to copy an .avi file by dragging it from my desktop onto the SD storage card....takes forever! Surely I'm doing something wrong? TIA.
Guest debully Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 In fact - the connection just times out after about 20mins. barsteward.
Guest martin Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 I have a 256MB card and don't seem to have this problem. Are you sure its disconnecting ? Load IA Task Manager and goto Menu-System Info and find the Storage card information. Copy the AVI file to the SD card again and watch the Storage card free memory reducing as the file is copied. If the free memory stops reducing then load another Explore session to the SD card from Active Sync. Click on any SD directory and see if the file transfer continues. Just thinking that there may be a session timout for some reason.
Guest element Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 You could buy a card reader, not that expensive and will stop the time out problem
Guest sparkisgti Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 defo get a card reader, transferring anything big via cradle seems crap to me
Guest mrchrisdavies Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 I have transferred approx. 80 mb of MP3's at a time no problem. But very large transfers can cause problems. I use 512mb card. I normally use a card reader for my large file transfer on the same card, much quicker and less hassle.
Guest squall Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 yeah a card readers a must really. have a look at www.ebuyer.com for good deals.
