Guest someone Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 Found this on the web: Anextek is about producing a brand new SmartPhone: The Anextek st100. Information about this phone can be found below, and at the site of Anextek, by clicking on this link. Give extra attention to the processor, which new in the SmartPhoneworld in my opinion. The battery seems to be extra strong with its 1,1 ampère per hour. I think its design looks great, but thats personal of course. It looks like the Compal SmartPhone. Guest gravity Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 It's pretty standard/generic, and it's about a whole generation behind the competition in terms of hardware.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 With the competition more like. It's a competitor to the Sagem by the look of it, same spec, different CPU.
Guest midnight Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 errrr, pxa263??????? are they sure about that???? thats the same processor as in the xda ii, running at 400mhz, if this is true, this phone could be seriously whoop ass, even if they under clock it to 200mhz, it means it could be clocked back up to 400mhz without any worries :P hmmm, and why doesnt this compete with the c500? you say its a whole generation behind, but the only thing lacking is a 1.3mp camera (c500 doesnt have that either, and this is regular SD, which currently i prefer cos it means i dont have to buy a new card :D), and the sagem doesnt have BT, this phone does
Guest mavisdavis Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 errrr, pxa263??????? are they sure about that???? thats the same processor as in the xda ii, running at 400mhz, if this is true, this phone could be seriously whoop ass, even if they under clock it to 200mhz, it means it could be clocked back up to 400mhz without any worries :P If this is true then I'll sidestep every Moto and HTC design going for a 400mhz BEAST I love the XDA2 for it's processing power. To have this in a small phone style would seriously ROCK 8) But what does bother me is the (Optional) quotes everywhere, does that mean you can switch it on if ya want it?
Guest midnight Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 yeh, means its there as standard, but isnt always turned on, very strange how they do say Optional everywhere though. I reckon its maybe the stuff they where implementing at design time, and somehow that info has got onto their website.
Guest midnight Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 just heard confirmation that it does run at 200mhz (hardly surprising, and a good thing if it improves battery life), so lets just hope it really can be clocked back up to 400mhz (and halving battery life in the process)
Guest martin Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 But what does bother me is the (Optional) quotes everywhere, does that mean you can switch it on if ya want it? It might mean that some applications are built-in to the ROM and others are optional and loaded from CD. I would prefer this as I wonder if any of these included apps could be stored on SD rather than flash ROM.
Guest Pigo Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Hmmm I like the processor but worried about the size. isn't it bigger than the C500? sorry but when it comes to phones size DOES matter a lot!! Pigo
Guest midnight Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 errr, all smartphones are bigger than the c500, hnce the reputation the c500 has for being the smallest smartphone (although neonode would argue with that) this is comparable to the s7 (so is significantly smaller than the e100/e200)
