i've got a couple of spreadsheets (excel XP) that i'd like to use on my phone.

anyone know of any software??

You can convert & view them with Repligo etc, but can't edit

As I said above, there is no application which will allow you to edit Excel spreadsheets on the phone, but you can convert them and view them using Repligo :
