Why the strange charging pattern?

What I have noticed is that (and I have logged the data using BlindLemon's Battery Monitor) is that when it charges the mA goes down after 80-odd-percent.

And it keeps going down slowly and slowly, plus, it takes longer to charge in this area, have you noticed how it takes absolutely ages to get from 95% to 100%??!!!!!

What do you think's going on?

I think it is quite common for a battery to charge like this , i think the rate of charging is inversely exponential i.e. it takes longer at the top end than the bottom end. I am sure someone will know the chemistry/physics behind it, but i can't remember - it's been too long since school.

I saw many people experiment on various way to recharge the battery as to get the best battery performance ie. longer battery life. Which way do you recommend is the best, MrMagoo? or any expert?

I always plug my Xphone to USB port to recharge it when I use computer. Would I actually shorten the battery life doing this? :oops:
