Guest skyrine Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 I am on the verge of setting fire to my e200. this piece of junk is driving me nuts. when transferring files via usb the connection bombs out and i have to remove the phone from the cradle and re-insert it to re-establish the connection to start the transfer again !! this happens when the damn thing switches from 'charging' to 'charged'. so, i pop the phone in the cradle, start moving over mp3s, it tops up the battery and disconnects in activesync. i can only get it to recognise the phone again by removing the phone from the cradle and re-inserting it. i have to find the corrupt file that was only partially written and delete it... BUT !!! it has started charging to top up the battery from its now 99.9999% full, so in 2 minutes it will disconnect as it reaches 100% AAAAARGH. for the love of christ this is driving me round the poxy bend...
Guest martin Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 Can you not disconnect the power supply form the cradle ?
Guest skyrine Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 interesting thought.... its a usb cradle thingy, i have absolutely no idea how.....
Guest martin Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 It must be different on the E200. I have an SPV and the cable/connector of the charger plugs directly into the cradle so you can either disconnect the cable or turn the charger off at the wall socket. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest skyrine Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 unfortunately the e200 usb cradle is directly powered by the usb port :P
Guest drblow Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 i know what you mean m8, this happens to me alot. why not just let your battery drain a bit? Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest skyrine Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 the phone tends to be somewhere between 2 & 3 bars on the poower symbol. transfering 30 mp3s takes soooooooo long the bugger has fully re-charged :P
Guest martin Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 You could try taking the battery off and powering up the E200 directly from the cradle power supply. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest skyrine Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 yeah, neat idea.. i tried that and it won't power up without the battery in place.
Guest martin Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 yeah, neat idea.. i tried that and it won't power up without the battery in place. Hmm, I used to be able top do this but now mine won't do it  It boots up and then gives a low battery error and shuts down. New software feature no doubt  I don't seem to have the file transfer problem with full battery so that must just be an E200 thing :? Your only option might be to find a USB cable that doesn't charge.
Guest ferret Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Your only option might be to find a USB cable that doesn't charge. Or buy a card reader
Guest skyrine Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Or buy a card reader you may be on to a winner there. :P i was hoping to fix the problem with the phone, but a caard reader woould prevent me from being admitted to the local looney bin !! i may search around for a reader that fits into a floppy bay.... i have far more than enough usb devices dangling off my poor pc
Guest sparkisgti Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 defo get a card reader.. e200 does not seem to like copying over big files.. i gave up after trying for ages..
