Guest mrchrisdavies Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 I'm not wanting to mess around with adaptors, and plug's etc. on my earphones/handsfree kit for my E200, but instead I'm planning on chopping the wires just above the mic/button and neatly replacing/soldering them directly with some good Sony earphones, thus retaining hands free etc. The MP3 quality isn't too bad on the phone as it is now (apart from the major lack of low/mid bass) but do upgraded earphones sound a lot better? Just wanna know before I wreck a good set of earphones! Thanks.
Guest Helix Posted August 1, 2004 Report Posted August 1, 2004 With a stereo adapter I picked up I hooked the phone up to my Sennheiser headphones. Sound quality was unreal for a phone. It kinda looked weird as well, a huge pair of headphones attached to this mobile phone. Still lacks bass tho.
Guest mrchrisdavies Posted August 2, 2004 Report Posted August 2, 2004 Still lacks bass tho. If that's the case, I don't think there's much point in upgrading the earphones for sound quality reasons. I reckon they sound pretty good anyway (considering it is only a mobile phone!) The main downside is the lack of bass though, and I just wondered if this could be improved. I'll continue to use my standard hands free kit for now :P
Guest mrchrisdavies Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Found this great MP3 player **HERE** It has graphic equalizer including bass boost, bookmark playlists, and adjusts the sound quality brilliantly. Definatley one of the Smartphone apps, recommended! (for music listeners anyway) edit: ...further use of the MP3 player above and I found two major flaws. After about three minutes it goes back to Homescreen. Secondly, the equalizer can upset the processing speed of the phone when increasing treble or bass, and causes the track to pause/skip quickly at times. Great product but needs improving.

Guest mrchrisdavies Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 Thanks, I have now ordered some Sennheiser MX400 earphones, which are supposed to be the best value for money at £10.99 with free delivery. I have heard the more expensive £15-£20 MX500 are virtually the same, but with a in-line volume control, which I don't need as I'll make do with the one I already have. So I'll see how it goes.
