Right 2 things

first... I have purchased IA Album 1.6 but the D/L after purchase is not working at present and just take you back to IA Styles info page about the product, so be aware..

second... the blurb with the purchase email says that it *does* contain the ability to capture pics and video.

Yeah but on there website it says...

"IA Album for Smartphone can be linked to IA Capture when used with a built-in or attached digital camera. This combination lets you snap new photos or shoot video clips with accompanying audio."

PS I have emailed both IAStyle and Handago twice now and had no reply. It really annoys me when companies ignore promlems like this. They are quite happy to take you money in the first place.

I can't agree more and I am having exactly the same problems..they do not respond to emails within 24hrs as they say they will.

I have now contacted Orange Wires Free customer services and expressed my frustration but they are only willing to say that although they promote Handango sold software they will not offer any support for their products or support for any issues with that software and that must be taken up with Handango themselves and that they will not contact them about this.

I then pointed out that this looks very bad on Orange and does not inspire confidence amongst the SPV community.

I also asked them why Handango are using the Orange logo and website design to sell their products if this is no more than a recommendation from Orange (with no support from them) to use them.

Eventually I was told the matter will be passed to the SPV software dept to consider but they are not at work until Monday.

No its still not working, and you can only use the solution of going to the spv version of handango to DL it if you registered with handango BEFORE you purchased IA Album.

I am so pissed off it is unbeleivable!

Question for you chewie, where did you get the link from where you downloaded it?

It's not on the official orange handango site (www.handango.com/orange-cobrand), or the site you can browse from your SPV?

I know its not :shock:

i went to ia styles, and bought it from there. After you purchase it from the IA styles site, you get an email, with a link so you can dl your software at anytime. You click on that link and you arrive at handango. You then goto DL the software, you get taken to page that states "if your download does not beibng automatically then please click here"

The page then refreshses after 1 second, and hey presto your back on the homepage of the ia styles website.

Oh also if you click the "click here" link it just takes you to the IA Atyles site aswell.

^ No but i assume it must be as the lewis chap has managed to DL it and get it working.

I haven tried ringing handango (quite a funky feature on the spv is that it formats telephone number as you enter it when dialling international, try it with something like +1 818 4344 987) but they didnt answer.

BTW that number ain't a real one

Quote from correspondence I had with IA Style dated 19/12/2002:

We are hoping to release IA Album for Smartphone for sale in about three weeks. IA Capture will probably be ready in about 6 weeks. Once the final versions of our software are ready, they will need to be authorized by our partners at Orange before we can start selling it from our website. We are not sure how long that will take, but hopefully it will be fairly quick.  

Either this process happened REALLY quickly (unlikely), or, I suspect, IA Album has been released, UNCERTIFIED, and has been submitted to O for certification, and IA Capture will follow soon.
