Guest baswen Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 how can I see the passthrough connection through my pc is working? I have a orange spv classic... I use the following settings from coolsmartphone.com: --------------------------------------- FIX All of the changes below take place in the Settings > Data Connections control panel. 1) Change the "Internet Connection" spinner to Automatic 2) Menu > Edit Connections 3) Open the Dial-Up Connections (choose edit on the Edit Connections screen) 4) Edit "Orange CSD WAP" and change it so it connects to "WAP Network". Press done twice to get back to the list of connection types. 5) Open the GPRS Connections 6) Edit "Orange WAP" and change it so it connects to "WAP Network". Press done to save the change, then the home key to leave the control panel. Thanks to Neil Emms at Microsoft for the definitive instructions here. You may need to also do this.... 1) On your PC - open ActiveSync. 2) Click Options 3) Click "Rules" and ensure that the Pass-Thru is set to use the Internet -------------------------------------- But when put my phone into the cradle, the gprs symbol in the upper right corner comes up.. So am I using my gprs or am I using my passthrough connection?
Guest martin Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 There are different ways of settings the pass through connection but if you want to use the Automatic settings for the internet connection then ... 1 Place the SPV in the cradle. 2 Goto Activesync on the PC and Tools-Options-Rules and make sure that connection=The Internet 3 Go to the SPV goto Settings Data connections and make sure that only Automatic, Orange GPRS and Passthrough are the available options. 4. Set the Internet connection to Automatic. This should allow you use GPRS out of the cradle and pass through when inserted into the cradle.
Guest baswen Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 3 Go to the SPV goto Settings Data connections and make sure that only Automatic, Orange GPRS and Passthrough are the available options. Ok thanks I have it working the gprs symbol is gone now but what do you mean with point 3??
