I;m not sure why he's decided to stop, maybe it's because the authorities told him to, or maybe because the publicity he generated was enough to keep his site economically viable for a while. Whatever the reason, @nonymous will have to find another platform from which to launch his work since MSMobiles has gone legit (hehe, legit in regards to the files he hosts, not the reliability of his 'articles').

Guest vikram_godse Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 Hi, I have just bought an MPX200 and tried upgrading to WM2003, but it gives me a message Bad News ! upgrade failed. It detects the phone and in the next step i am asked to select the image for the WM2003 rom.I select that and in a short while get a message saying Bad News ! do i have to turn on the phone after selecting the ROM? I have tried this on the following O/Ses Win98,WinME,WinXP do let me know...sorry if i have posted in the wrong area I am new here ... TIA VIkram

Sorry I can't tell you more, I heard it from someone inside :wink: The inside of a empty room maybe.. I'm dubious.. If they didn't do a 2003 update, they won't do a 2003se update. That and the new series of phones coming out in the MPx range, Can you say abandonware?

If moto released an update that close to the launch of a new phone then it would affect upgrade sales.

Guest TANKERx Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Maybe Moto could make more 220 sales by releasing WM2003SE for the 200 because when people see 2003 on the 200 and realise that on the 220 there's more memory, more stability and better battery power, it may be seen as a worthwhile upgrade. WM2003 on a 200 could be seen as a demo version of the 220.
Guest Siluri Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Well i hope someone does have the B***s to upgrade mpx200 even by legal means because the 220 is looking dated before it comes out(should look like the V1000). The competition is bringing out phones that are smaller, modern looking, bigger displays and cheaper(to name a few things :) ). At least someone at Moto. dumped the 100 cos the C500 is better and cheaper. I like my Mpx200, i dont need a camera(got a lot better digi camera than any phone) and i dont use my phone in the car( no need for bluetooth) i upgraded mine to 2003 and iam very happy with it (wish i could get my orange backup back :P ) An official release of 2003 SE for mpx 200 would be welcome by a lot of people who dont need cameras or bluetooth but need a "Smartphone" thats upgradable(whole point of it being smart).
