...just installed it on my c500. first i got an error message and it wouldn't start at all. after restarting the phone it once came up but in the second try it did not read the contacts anymore...

Beta 2 of SMSNotify has been released.

The following issues and new features are in this release.

- Stability

- No more registry key errors on key read.

- Ability to toggle on/off a users Tone event on the fly

- SMSCounter, See how many times someone has sent you a text message

- Code cleanup, nearing Final release.

I was very interested in trying your app on the off chance that it might help me with a problem I am having:

Anyway, I downloaded the app, installed (no problems so far) and assigned a WAV to my missus (so to speak). Sadly the original WAV sounds rather than the replacement. I also notice that the SMS counter has not incremented henceforth I assume it isn't finding a match in my contacts. I have incidentally rebooted the phone and re-loaded the app just in case. The second SMS was exactly the same as the first however.

If it helps I am running a C500 and the numbers in my contact list are stored in the following format:

+44(1111)123456 [no leading zero in the area code]

As a slight asside, I don't suppose you could tell me whether your app will stop playing the WAV when a key is pressed could you? (I am getting desperate to solve this problem!!)

As for Craigs request. I had not thought of that. Would be simple enough I guess, just would require a few things to test on it I guess.

Im releasing a V2 update soon so I dont think Ill add it into this one as Im currently going through the testing of it and dont want to introduce any thing else new... If there was demand tho? !!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let there be a demand for this :wink:

Trust me there is nothing else around that does this and I cannot be the only person who would like to use a long WAV with the option of stopping it!

If you do decide to put this in a future version, please drop me a PM and I'll (more than) happily test it for you!

THERE IS LOADS OF DEMAND FOR THIS. This is on the bug list for the C500 so if this program could fix it, then demand would be huge

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but is it correct that you can only assign one sms tone with this program? I mean, when I try to assign a different sms tone to two different contacts the first one assigned dissapears..

And as others have noticed, the sms counter doesn't seem to work..

You are using the demo version which only allows one contact to be assigned at a time.
