Hey!

/me Waves at all the moderators

Just thought can we have a 'best of' section?

For example best Homescreens we all like, these can be determined by how us the public vote, say over rating 8 then they go in this section. Or best Emu's, Games, and Apps all in one place?

Just spent ages looking for a new homescreen and thought this might help.

Or would this be more effort then its worth?

I second that! Here, here!!!

Why don't we have the option to rate games, programs, and ringtones

I was actually about to write a post about how I thought this was a good idea but ... scenario. But the more I think about it, I reckon its a pretty good idea. What I would imagine would be beneficial to users would be 'best of' forums for apps, for customisation, for games ... whatever! There is now getting to be so much stuff here that it would be good, especially I would think for new members.

I think the idea of putting stuff into 'best of' categories based on rating like in the homescreen section is a great idea. It would be excellent to see that for apps too. Not sure how workeable that is, but it would be a good feature! :P

I agree!! :D

hmmm, whilst I agree in the main, " Best of", "least liked" ect. is subjective. Non? Better help develop rather than find flaw?

:P Who? Me? :D Of course not!! Although ... I'd be very happy to think that at least some of them would be considered 'best of'!! :D

Na, really tho - I'm thinking more about purchasing apps/games. It would be great of there was a one-stop section where you could have a quick look at comments before deciding to part with hard earned cash.

Yeh thats what i wanted the section for, especially for new ppl, and ppl are always saying wots the best app for movies, or best app for tesxting etc.. with this section this will be reduced so we can get on talking properly about smartphones.

It seems this has had good feedback so far, but im still WAVING at the moderators to get there attention or opininons on this idea. hehe.

First moderator 2 post there opinion is officailly the best moderator :P that should get me there opinions.

hehe

you know that you can rate homescreens in the homescreens listing, and you can rate programs and games in the software catalogue (cept its a couple of months out of date now - my bad... will have to try and get it back up to date) If theres any program in particular you see missing from the catalogue PM me and I'll add it.

I talked to Midnight and he said that they have had something similar in the works, he isn't able to go into any detail, but he used the word soon.

Keep your fingers crossed.

So for those who were at the last event, we gave you a sneak preview into what was in the pipeline, namely MoDaCo 2 and MoDaCo 3.

MoDaCo 2 was the redesign stage, and MoDaCo 3 was the platform migration.

Work on these has been ongoing - albeit at a slower pace than we would like due to other commitments - but they are now nearing fruition!

The two stages have now merged, and the new platform will be released at the same time as the new look.

The launch will feature mainly forum focus, primarily to ensure our core functionality is spot on - but after that has taken place, new features will come online at an increasing pace.

Requests from users have been noted since the early days of the site, and our new platform will serve to both offer some of the requested features straight away, but more importantly will allow us to implement changes and improvements more quickly in the future!

Finally, as M2 day nears, we will be inviting a small group of members to take part in trials... watch this space!

:-)
