Guest lutzh Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 i've got a typhoon today and have to say it is really cool! it is not black or champagne (or like paul said champagne=silver) - i would call the colour ice blue, a light blue metallic. i hope you can recognize the colour in the picture... cheers, lutz ps: i forgot to say - it is not a qtek 8010, it comes with orange rom but has no orange label on it.
Guest Pondrew Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 You lucky so and so! Let us know how it goes...
Guest anna Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 Congratulations! 8) Keep us updated. How about some more pictures for us? It would be interesting to see that color in different lighting.
Guest lutzh Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 it still rocks - did a little video recording on my way to shopping today. enjoy riding along the german higway with me!!! KLICK ignore the talking in the background, its not my wife but i am fan of audiobooks :-) cheers, lutz
Guest lutzh Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 here you have it in comparsion to a qtek8080. cheers, lutz
Guest yoos Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 How good does that left/right work on the joystick (or whatever you call it)?
Guest SeaneyC Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 Ahhhh i can't wait for my pre-order to arrive!
Guest lutzh Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 can't say so much about battery since i only have it since friday. it's now 30 hours since i've charged it last time and i only lost two barrs (its still on 60 %!!!) - did 5 fonecalls (all in all around fife minutes), received three text messages and synced 5 times only via bluetooth (bt switched on the hole 30 hours). this phones rocks. battery always was a pain in the smartphone arse. seems like it is solved in here and also the phone looks good and gives a good feeling in my hands. regarding the navigation - ok, it's different to the sticks we know and i think it is not so perfekt for gaming but i can still enjoy my cigarette break with jawbreaker... more questions left? cheers, lutz
Guest zeta101 Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 has the camera quality improved since? there were some photos taken a while back with a c500 and apparently they wernt that good...can you post some samples (i checked out the video and it looks good from there). Also when you click to take a photo does it get taken right away or is there a lag? Also, do you mind if i ask what your job is? you always get these new phones early to test, youre so lucky :P
Guest lutzh Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 :-) here are the pictures. the more greeny looking ones are taken in the daylight/automatic mode and i've switched to night mode for the more brilliant ones. i've stayed in night mode after figuring out that this removes the green shine from it. all in all i have to say the pictures look good. i have nothing optimised on them except for web-optimised storing in photoshop... also i took another video - now on my bike. you can see very clear that i enjoy life at the moment and the c500 is part of that sunshine-mood... KLICK my job has nothing to do with this gadgets (i am business development manager for a big publishing house in germany) - except for one thing: it brings the money for that mostly expensive hobby... more questions? go for it! cheers, lutz ps: 33 hours now without recharge, all that fancy videotaping, calling, syncing via bluetooth and still 55 % of the battery left!
Guest zeta101 Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 wow the photos are much better than i expected!...and another cool video :P could you answer the questions that pagemakers posted in this thread: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=111986 he asks the following: Anyone with a C500/8010 can you confirm  1) If the T9 words are still repeatedly forgotten or has this been fixed.  2) When downloading emails, does the correct email download when you select it from the list and choose 'download'?  3) Does the phone stay connected to GPRS permanently or does it constantly drop the connection after xx mins. im suprised that people arent falling over themselves to ask you things about this phone! Thanks for the cool pics/vids/comments so far!
Guest Pondrew Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 Very cool vids Lutzh. This 'phone is looking better and better all the time! Motorola MPX220? No thanks, I'd rather have a HTC Typhoon (he says hoping he isn't eating his words two weeks after getting the phone)
Guest VapoTrini Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 lutzh, since you're in a great position to judge... Which do you prefer, this phone or the mpx220? You've owned both so your opinion would be invaluable. Which in your opinion is the better phone and why? Take care.
Guest Coolbox Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 Does it have 4 or 8 points joystick?? It looks like 4
Guest lutzh Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 at the moment i have to say that the c500 is the better fone but remember the mpx220 was very far away from the release rom on it. so at the moment i am a happy htc customer.... regarding the navigation key: this fone is defenitly not ment to be used for games. the 5 way navigation works but brings absolutely no fun for games. zero points in this category but i don't care so much about this if i have a smartphone that: - is small - very well finished - reliable and stable - battery lasts over 48 hours even in heavy usage - movie capabilities where you choose if you record in 3gp (multimedia message format) or avi (to play on desktops mediaplayer) - camera shoots acceptable pictures - bluetooth pairs even with very rare bluetooth devices thats alot compared to what we have seen in previouse released htc phones... cheers, lutz ps: i've installed fonix voicedial on it - guess what! it works....
Guest Dr Who Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 No voicedial as standard??? I thought that was *meant* to be on the Orange ROM!
Guest lutzh Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 i was wrong!!! just installed a new rom and voicedial is already there, so it has nothing to do with fonix!!! cheers, lutz
Guest Pondrew Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 i was wrong!!! just installed a new rom and voicedial is already there, so it has nothing to do with fonix!!! cheers, lutz New Rom Lutzh? Is it a preproduction Rom being regularly updated?
Guest www.msmobiles.com Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 i am a happy htc customer.... hm, interesting, and all that talk from you "I will never ever get any HTC phone again" is gone ? have you changed your mind now?
Guest lutzh Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 as you can see here i have definitly changed my mind. i wonder if motorola will be able to beat the new htc experience. at the moment they are not... cheers, lutz
Guest MaximilianWeisheit Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 Now to the important question.
