disappearing homescreens

i have found recently that several homescreens disappear after a few minutes, leaving me with 'no valid homescreens ...' error. the strangest thing is that it happens with the default pre-installed orange screens, midnights msn theme, but not with my opera theme or craftys iCandy!

has anyone else experienced this? or has all my mucking about with skins killed something? as this happened pre-update, & i have only just updated the ROM i'm assuming any problems would be a hardware issue if anything. am i wrong? Posted from my SmartPhone!

Are you using an E200 and have homescreen images on the storage card?

Yes e200, no images on storage card. As I said above, it happens mostly with the default homescreens that come with the phone - windows default, orange full layout etc. The only non-standard homescreen it happens with is midnights MSN.
