Guest smith2001 Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 i work for t-mobile and have just started. but i was told by 1 of the *blonde's* i work with that unlocking a mobile whilst on contract is against the warrenty and thus void's it when done. now i was under the impression that unlocking was perfectly legal and infact if a network placed that rule down they would be breaking the law under the competitions act (uk) anyone shed any light on this
Guest smith2001 Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 c'mon some1, some1 has to know the answer to this, in the vast knowledge that is modaco
Guest mcwarre Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 It will void the warranty unless it is done by your network provider at which point they will want you to pay up the rest of your contract prior to unlocking it for you (for a fee of course). However, do they check that it has been unlocked when it is returned to them? Methinks not....................
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 Once out of contract you can do what you like but until them you have to obey the terms and conditions when you signed your contract.
Guest mattlyon62 Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 I always thought that unlocking a phone was not supposed to be done. Anyway how do they know if you unlock it or not.
