Can we have a different forum area for MPx200 +WM2003

I'm a little tired of having to sift through here looking for information as it's been cluttered up by posts from people who have ILLEGALLY installed the 2003 upgrade and now find (unsurprisingly) that a lot of things don't work.

I agree. Installing software, home screens, mods, and other apps. can be confusing enough for the average user. Forum threads need to be clear when you are asking for technical assistance, Some 2003 applications won't run on 2002, and some 2002 programs can make the step up to 2003. If you install the wrong flavor you can have more issues.

Of course, how do you acknowledge 2003 on MXP200? Would that be saying you condone and or support the actions of others using software that may not be legal?

Like most things now days, darn if you do and darn if you don't.

Somehow PDA's and Smartphones are not considered to be equal to PCs. What upsets me about all this is, if this were my PC and you told me I can have Windows NT workstation and then you release Windows XP and tell me I can't upgrade you better have a darn good reason or I'm moving to Linux.

I AM FED UP OF PEOPLE SPEAKING OF 2003.

I HAVE VOLUNTARILY KEPT MY MPX200 WITH 2002 JUST TO AVOID PROBLEMS AND TO STAY IN LEGAL SITUATION

And I'm afraid that's what a Smartphone is, a computer in the form of a mobile phone. Hence there will be occasional but fairly major updates. Not that I'm defending the illegal mpx200 2003 rom, just that the i600 was legally upgradeable to 2003 and others may be upgradeable in the future.

As for a section for MPX200 on 2003, not really my area so I won't get involved! :P

I'd go with the 2002/2003 tag suggestion, as it makes things clearer. Also, why the sudden emphasis on the 'illegal' aspect of the 2003 rom? How many cries and shouts have there been in this forum over the past six months for 2003? We finally get it (thanks @nonymous), and then moan our asses off over it. Typical British! Is Tim Henman a mod here or something?!!! :wink:

Anyway, lets seperate stuff for those who (probably quite rightly) stayed with 2002, and those of us who are very naughty, the 2003 lot.

No need to be agitated or flushed with anger. There's always support for both. I reckon a nice {S2002} or {Wm2003}

tag at the start of the subject line would be sufficient and clear enuff to identify the difference. Why the front? well if the subject line gets too long and if the tag is placed at the end, wouldn't it be redundant?

Apparently MPX200 is not your matter as you say, so leave the MPX200 owners try to find a way themselves in getting clear in the REAL difference between MPX200 WM2002 and WM2003. Moreover it seems that this mess is voluntarily kept on Modaco to force WM2002 upgrade with the illegal ROM.

Why speak of illegal. legal? Just because that THERE ARE BUGS, THERE IS NO REAL SUPPORT on such bugs. This is the reason why I didn't upgrade, it's my choice, and I don't see why those who have cheated would decide for everybody what must be done.

To summarize, WM2002 and WM2003 are 2 distinct products, so discussions must be separated...

Wow, you need to chill man.

As Pondrew pointed out. Your Smartphone is pretty much also consdered a PC of sorts. It's got an Operating System, so therefore it can be upgraded.

(Of course your mileage may vary - see your grocer's freezer...)
