Guest sum182_41 Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 Hey everyone, I have a friend who just upgraded his MPX200 to Windows 2003, and he gets this error when trying to read his SIM card: alert - Fail to initialize SIM, possible Radio Off or SIM failure Can anybody help us out?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 Check the SIM contacts are not broken and also check the SIM retaining clips are not broken as this is a common failure. The normal fix if it is the clips that have broken is to place a piece of folded paper between the battery and the SIM card.
Guest srg59 Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 He's using T-mobile. The phone will work fine, but he won't be able to use the SIM mgr; the error should only appear if he's trying to access the sim contacts or just restarted the phone.
Guest abatis Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 You can download the trial of Jeyo Companion and read/export/import to the SIM with it. It works with my T-Mo SIM on 2003. There is some information over at Mobile Gadget News on this. Jeyo Companion
