Guest aqr505 Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 Hi, I have 3 questions, and relly appricate your advise on these. 1) Can you do a software unlock/application unlock without doing a full hard reset, and if so, how? 2) I tried to do the hard reset, but I couldn't find mxipcold_oem10.provxml and mxip_oem10.provxml files in the 'Mobile Device/My Smartphone/Windows' folder. Are they in some other folder? or Can somebody email me these two files if possible? 3) Can you give me the URL for th Orange backup? Couldn't find it in the UK site or in the orange USA site. Thanks so much in advance.... :P
Guest Disco Stu Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 Hold on a moment there matey. Do you really need to hard reset ? Only do so if your phone is totally messed up or if you've got it second hand as this will return you to factory settings (ie: box fresh). 1. Software / application unlocking has no direct relation to hard reset. Go here : http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdef.aspx Follow the instructions carefully. The discussion thread can be found by clicking -> OTA <- and is worth a quick read first. 2. I don't know what phone you've got but a hard reset usually doesn't involve those files. Get back to us on which phone but click on the words hard reset for the thread. If you've got an E200, look in the Programs menu for Clear Storage (may be in Orange or Accessories folders) as this does the same thing without all the hassle. 3. You won't find Orange Backup on their website since it is accessed directly from your phone. Look in the Orange folder on the Programs menu.
