Guest mortalwombat Posted August 12, 2004 Report Posted August 12, 2004 Hi Folks, I have an E200 and, by scraping together all the info off this and other forums, have succeeded in getting it to Activesync with my E200. To see how stable the new config was, I did the following: 1) Turned BT off on the phone, therefore disconnecting the Activesync connection, then turned it back on and tried syncing again. Worked a treat. 2) Turned the BT radio off on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 510M with built in BT Truemobile 300 module), therefore disconnecting the Activesync connection, then turned the BT radio back on again and tried syncing. This also worked a treat. 3) Turned my phone off and then back on. Tried syncing, but this time it would not work. All of the settings make sense on both phone and laptop, (matching COM ports etc...), but when i try to "connect via Bluetooth", it does not connect and tells me that I need to bond with a device that allows serial/activesync profile. The wizard takes me to the BT settings on my phone, where my laptop is still clearly bonded with my phone! The only way I have been able to resolve this is to uninstall, then re-install the BT driver on the laptop and set everything up "fresh". Clearly, this is a royal PITA. Why should the connection stop functioning after a phone restart? Anyone else with this problem? If so, or if you know how to fix it, I would really like to hear from you. Thanks in advance!!! MW
Guest dreamweavel Posted August 12, 2004 Report Posted August 12, 2004 I always have similar probs; i usually bond looking for the phone from my PC - it doesn't seem to work so well the other way round... There's an option in PC bluetooth configuration settings you need to turn on the "PIN code authentification required" if you want to do it the other way round. It never seems to work til you enable this. And sometimes you need to restart your PC after too - god knows why. I've never had to reinstall bluetooth though...
Guest partycan Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 See my little guide a put up futher down, I had exactely the same bonding request come up with me. Sadly I did have to reinstall the software because it's so tempremental, it seems rather stable if you get it right first time though :S
Guest mortalwombat Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 Thanks for your responses folks... for some reason, everything seems to be working OK now. I managed to restart my phone and everything was fine. Very strange! I guess BT is just a temperamental technology at the moment. MW
