Guest coolway Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 Hey could someone whos good at porting port this game, im willing to pay for it to. This would be a top game and everybody would wnat it.
Guest squall Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 this has been talked about before, and the feeling was it would be impossible to get any current versions due to licence/ space issues. the only option would be to use version from say 5 - 10 years ago or something, that didn't have copyprotection and was designed for running on pcs that are slow in comparison to todays pc's.
Guest gravity Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 Or people could stop asking for ports. If some coder out there wanted to port a game and didn't know which one, I'm sure that he would make a post asking for ideas, till then stop asking because I can guarantee you right now it ain't gonna happen.
Guest squall Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 agreed but im to polite to say that. like i said licence is a sticky problem, and if i were good enough to port id write my own games not nick someone elses
Guest lukeap69 Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 guys, why is there a "Currently banned" phrase below coolway's name?
Guest badboy4life Posted August 14, 2004 Report Posted August 14, 2004 So how comes he can still post?
Guest midnight Posted August 14, 2004 Report Posted August 14, 2004 he cant, he was only banned this afternoon
Guest pwest13 Posted August 14, 2004 Report Posted August 14, 2004 y was he banned? and i got banned a few weeks ago and i dont know what i did wrong?
Guest squall Posted August 14, 2004 Report Posted August 14, 2004 most bans result from talking about warez... if you dont know why you were banned ask the person who banned you. you should have recieved an email from modaco when you were banned with the persons name.
Guest gravity Posted August 14, 2004 Report Posted August 14, 2004 Besides, does it matter why he got banned? Read his posts, he didn't contribute anything positive to the community.
Guest gravity Posted August 14, 2004 Report Posted August 14, 2004 http://www.modaco.com/search.php?search_author=coolway check it out, lies, whine, warez and more lies
Guest midnight Posted August 14, 2004 Report Posted August 14, 2004 if he wants an explanation he can feel free to email me, but he will know exactly why he was banned cos what he did was pretty stupid. put it this way, we almost started another section on MoDaCo cos of it called 'MoDaCo's Dumbest Criminals'.
Guest pwest13 Posted August 14, 2004 Report Posted August 14, 2004 me? or coolway? i didn't get an email but when i tried to log in it kept refusing me and said something like : "You are unable to log in as this user has been blocked" or something like that!
Guest squall Posted August 14, 2004 Report Posted August 14, 2004 in that case i would check the email address you have listed on your modaco profile
Guest Feidhlim Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 it would be great to even get an early 90's one that doesnt require a licience
Guest otacon Posted September 14, 2004 Report Posted September 14, 2004 yeah... I'm a BIG football fan and it would be great to bring CM anywhere I go... hmm... I won't be able to put my mpx down!!!
Guest ultimasnake Posted September 14, 2004 Report Posted September 14, 2004 What you CAN do when requesting a port (if you do that anyway) is A. Look around if there is any Source of the game/app you want ported (this is needed to port a game, not just an exe file or so) B. Where is the source (you can say that there is any source but you shouldn't let the possible "porter" even look for it) C. Ask very very politely and also how this game could be "fixed" since we are only on a res of 220x176 not everything will ook great how do you think the porter can fix this problem :) (like a CM has LOADS of text on screen.. how do you want to fit that onscreen )... I think that if you do it in a way like above instead of just "Hey gimme port, me like game"-way ( hehe) a port will be much more interesting for anyone to do then just a question
