SOLUTION: Sync Outlook Calendar & Exchange Public Folder

Probably the biggest thing stopping me getting a C500 now is sync'ing with Public Folders in Exchange via the cradle. It's an ActiveSync issue, not phone-specific.

Does anyone have a solution that lets them sync Calendar entries from Exchange folders to their MS Smartphone?

I know this is an "old" one, but I've tried and search and can't find anything new on it...

Nope, there's no way I know, ditto Public Mail Folders...

@Paul:

What are the options?

Do you have yours sync'ing over the air?

Do I need extra software to do that? (I don't manage our works servers any more and it's unlikely the guy who does will make any significant changes for just one person)

Response from Puma Tech, makers (?) of IntelliSync:

Thank you for contacting us and for your interest in our product.

The Intellisync software is not compatible with Siemens SPV C500 Smart phone. The Intellisync software is not compatible with Windows Mobile 2003 SE.

However, if you wish, you may request for a feature to be added to our software at the following page.

Not sure where Siemens comes into it though :)

I too tried the Intellisync. It worked GREAT. Right up until I had done the 2003 upgrade on my Mpx200. It seems they are not willing to provide an update for 2003. Fortunately for me, I had just purchased the $70 package from the Intellisync people. They were quite understanding of my problem and gave me a full refund for the product when we could not get it working on the 2003 platform.

If I had to guess, it all revolves around how the storage is named in 2003 as compared to 2002. Other programs have had the same issue but had easy fixes in their registry settings. It would be really nice if Windows Mobile had a symbolic link feature like Unix/Linux where you can have multiple names for the same directory.

Our Net Admin guy has come up with an ugly, but workable solution!

This works on Exchange, but I can't vouch for anything else

1) Setup shared drives on your exchange server (I'm told that it's drive M by default)

2) Create a batch file to XCOPY the entries between calendars (see attached)

xcopy "mail_server_nameM$domain_namePUBLIC FOLDERSPath_To_Your_Shared_DiaryMore_Path_If_Required" "mail_server_nameM$domain_nameMBXyour_network_usernameCalendar" /D /C /Y

For the first time you run it you can/should remove the /D command (which tells it only to copy new items)
