Can xphone run Java? same as Nokia?

in theory yes, in practice no, as the only java app to be released so far is for mio phones only.

There was talk of a new app recently, but nothing seems to have come from it

It on my Mio, nothing to shout about, dont see why u you want it to be honest i dont rate it highly.

that may change in the future, many more smartphones will have java (c500 has it as standard - so do many others) with more phones running java i think there will be more developers for the platform
