Guest Matx Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 What is the maximum size of the miniSD card that can be used in the C500? I would like to use a 512mb card. Cheers.
Guest machiavell1 Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 I saw a 512 for sale- don't know if the phone can handle it or not.
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 It can take 256 for sure. I am yet to find a 512 mini sd, any ideas where mach?
Guest midnight Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 like the spv, e100 and e200 before i, i doubt theres a maximum size, when 1gb mini sd becomes available i'm pretty sure it will work without problems.
Guest martin Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 Simon Desser has already bought a 512MB mini SD. No problems reported :P See HERE
Guest machiavell1 Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 ...and that's where I saw the one I wanted! Sorry- was out at the Bourne Supremacy so no reply. Glad to know it works! :P Might pick one up myself... This phone is getting better by the second. Just need to figure out how to do plug ins etc and then I am sorted. Difficult to do these things when you have a Mac...
Guest mcwarre Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 As the card is formatted using FAT32 (same as XP (non-NTFS)) the theoretical maximum size is 2 to the power of 32 bytes which is approximately 4.3TB (which is why you can fit large hard drives to your PCs). I haven't found an SD card quite that big as yet.................
Guest sparkisgti Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 ive just bought a 512 one for mine.. just gotta get the actual phone now :?
Guest bosshogg Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Just ordered a 512mb from HERE, should be here tomorrow. £89.95 plus delivery.

Guest BanziBarn Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 you want decently priced mini sd's check out www.ebuyer.com im getting a 256mb mini sd off there for £20! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> £65 for 1gig! Can this be right? http://www.xlshop.com/moreInfo.asp?tabGrpC...DMINI1GB&ref=kl
Guest chucky.egg Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 It's probably right, but they don't have any (SanDisk haven't started shipping yet)
Guest BanziBarn Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 (edited) It's probably right, but they don't have any (SanDisk haven't started shipping yet) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Where does it say that? Anyway, I'd rather get a 1gig than a smaller one... but depends on how long I have to wait. Edited April 4, 2005 by BanziBarn
Guest JPo_23 Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 I have ordered a 1GB mini SD from computerwebstore.co.uk for £62, and it was in stock, unlike Ebuyer ones. Try searching on kelkoo, loads of places beat ebuyer prices.
Guest BanziBarn Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 Cool, looks like I won't have to wait then :D
Guest leinadafc Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 I have a 1GB card - no problems here (as long as we disregard my taste in music)
Guest BanziBarn Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 I have a 1GB card - no problems here (as long as we disregard my taste in music) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I take it you transfer files by using a card reader? Activesync takes an age to fill up the 16mb card I got with the phone, so I can only imagine how slow a gig would be.
Guest Gavin Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 I have ordered a 1GB mini SD from computerwebstore.co.uk for £62, and it was in stock, unlike Ebuyer ones. Try searching on kelkoo, loads of places beat ebuyer prices. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've just checked computerwebstore and they're saying 3-10 days for stock? Whilst xlshop aren't giving stock details on the sandisk 1GB minisd's, indicating that either; (a) they have them in stock or (:D they don't show stock details :?: I've had my 1Gb on pre-order from GMKBatteries since frickin Feb 10th :?: Me thinks I'll be cancelling that order and switching to some of the NOW cheaper places.
Guest leinadafc Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 I take it you transfer files by using a card reader? Activesync takes an age to fill up the 16mb card I got with the phone, so I can only imagine how slow a gig would be. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes I use a card reader, prior to that I accessed the phone via a "mobile device" tab in Explorer. It didn't seem to take too long. I assembled all the files and folder structure I wanted to copy over, in a folder on my PC first, then I copied this folder over as one "job lot". Took a while, but I could leave the PC to it.
Guest BanziBarn Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 Not tried the mobile device thing, will give that a go and see if its any quicker.
Guest lardy Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 Hey guys and gals, check out >>>> Online Memory <<<< I got a 512 mini SD card for 30 quids, plus the adaptor so it's readable by external drives and stuff. They are doing free delivery at the moment for things over 30 quid. It was the cheapest place i could find!
