Guest fijiguy Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Hi... this is a really cool site... I've just bought an O2 Xphone... and am learning so much about it already! I have synchronised the Xphone to my PC. One thing that is bugging me though is that I can't seem to find a way to use wav files as ringtones. There are pretty funky sound effects and voice songs on the net in wav format that I would like to use as alert sounds. I don't have an SD card as yet... is it possible to store wav files on the phone itself and assign it to a ringtone, or SMS alert tone? I have tried to use the French Software, but my phone gives an error (Windows Mobile 2003). Trying to install the Fembot cab file also failed! (Not sure if this has been discussed before. If it has, I would like to apologise and request someone to point me to the discussion) Thank you.
Guest Disco Stu Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Wav files need to be in PCM format - use Windows Sound Recorder to do the conversion (it's in Programs, Accessories, Entertainment on your PC) - then copy & paste them into Storage Appplication Data Sounds (create this last folder if not there already). Have a read of this thread for detailed instructions for making your own ringtones : http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=90760 :P
