Guest nAmCE Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Version 1.6 released. This version also works with Pocket PC 2003 devices (including Phone Edition devices like the Qtek 2020/XDA II/MDA II). My primary device nowadays is a Pocket PC 2003 Phone Edition, so I have not tested this version on a SmartPhone 2003 yet. Action messages that you send using "@" are now displayed. The direct connection menu entry has been removed, as SmartIrc.net now is able to check if a network connection exists. Download it from here.
Guest nedge2k Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Nam, i have one huge request for this app: Those of us using O2 PAYG GPRS can only connect by using a proxy (193.113.200.195). This is ok for using the net on the phone coz u can set IE to connect thro wap network then proxy to the net. However, you cant thro SmartIrc and without the proxy nothing works :) Any chance you could add a proxy function to SmartIrc? Cheers mate

Cheers mate Uhm, I don't think I'm able to do that, because I don't know what kind of proxy functionality O2 provides (probably only a Web proxy). If they provide a socks proxy, that one should work directly if you configure it in your network settings (though I doubt this). Kim
Guest nedge2k Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Yeh sorry forgot to mention it was HTTP proxy and i've tried messing with th settings to get it to work but it wont :P However, i dont think this is because its a HTTP proxy...i use mIRC on the laptop and have setup the proxy in that and it works fine :) In fact, the only thing i am having trouble with on the laptop is MSN :? Any chance you can add it so i cn see if it works? Cheers
Guest MorphFx Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 For the complete novice (although I use to use mirc on pc) how do I connect ? Are there any known irc servers accessable using this software via an E200 on Orange contract and via GPS - or if have to use wap how do I go about configuring it? What irc server do you recommend to try with this app and do we stick to the default port 6667? cheers
Guest nedge2k Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 Any news on having proxy settings yet nam? Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest lsmodaco Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Hi all, this might sound like a dumb question, but I have downloaded and installed the software fine. Can connect to a server fine, but can not load a channel listing. Am i doing something wrong?
