Guest smason5 Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 Hi, I've never used a smartphone before but am seriously considering the C500. I have a couple of questions I was hoping someone might be able to help me with : 1) When entering text in T9, are apostrophies automatically generated from a full stop (which is what Nokias generally do) ? Or do you have to choose the apostrophe symbol each time? Is that a hassle or straight forward ? eg. you enter the word that.s but it automatically generates the word that's 2) I'm basically looking for a small colour camera phone with some PDA functionality (specifically a good calendar and contacts list with addresses). I've been looking at symbian phones such as the Nokia 6600 (which is rather large) and was wondering how it compares to the C500 with it's MS windows 2003 SE in general use. Has anyone tried both and can comment ? Pros and cons ? Thanks to anyone who can help. Kind regards, Stuart
Guest ferret Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 Can't comment on the c500, but the SPV and SPV E200 (1) Yes, can even work out if it's a . or ' eg don't e - do - don - don. - don't (2) Never had a symbian so can't comment
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 Lets put it this way, smartphones whoop nokias ass, the c500 can chanllenge and win nokias
Guest smason5 Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 Thanks to you both for your replies. I'm really glad the C500 does the punctuation trick as I was hoping. Stuart
