Running win2003, i am trying to configure my Pop3 account from the settings in outlook, yet i cannot fine where to configure the server port numbers, (pc->outlook->account->more settings->advance) since my Pop3 account does not use the default 110 port number (incoming svr). Can this be set anywhere? or does anybody know of a registry hack to get around this? i'll be really disappointed getting this far to find i can't setup my email.

Also it (phone settings) mentions a domain name, ??? is this the incoming mail svr address? if so why enter it twice?

Oh and one last, yet unrelated query, when plugged into my PC, the GPRS symbol still gets shown even though i have the internet data connection set to automatic ... when accessing the net is this using PC lan or my phones GPRS ... unnecessary costly if the latter. Is there any other way to force it to use the lan connection when plugged in, other than disabling the GPRS ... (which i can only do by setting to flight mode, without changing the settings) ... thanks in advance for any part of this you can answer.

whooa too many replies .... anyways i have actually answered my first too questions are searching the net. The first i can get around by using a third party email client, like Sunnysoft mail, which lets me specify port numbers when setting up my pop. The second, domain name i found works fine being empty, so thats solved too. My third question, probably the simplest remains outstanding but i guess will be answered when i receive my next bill

... every get the feeling ur talking to yaself in these fourms!

chill dude :)

the answer to your question is

set the mailserver to pop3.myserver.com:123

or just add :portnumber after it

later

On the last question: If you have the small G showing next to the signal bars then you are using GPRS.

Try setting 'Internet connection: Pass through connection' in the settings-Data connections menu and see if that helps.
