I’ve got an e200 at the moment (on my third one cos they keep breaking! ) but I really like it!

That time of year has come where Orange want to entice me to stay with them for another year, so they are offering my any phone I want for free…. But which one?

I do really like my smartphone, and use quite a lot of the features, but am undecided whether to stay with the smartphone movement. Reading the posts on this site, it seems like Orange/HTC have once again released a half finished barely tested product!

I would hate to get a C500, wait for a month for an update to be released, only to have more problems (E200 update was less than straightforward, with many mixed views on how good it was)

I’m wondering whether Nokia or Siemans can do a better job of building a fully functional phone. The Nokia 7610 has quite a lot of good features, including a 1-megapixal camera, but QCIF movies don’t seem to be as good as avi clips on the E200.

Would waiting for a C500 for a month or two mean that the phone I received would have a newer version of the OS, or would it be exactly the same as the version I would get if I upgraded tomorrow?

I was in this dilema and decided to go for the C500. Yes it WILL have bugs and need fixes so if that is going to annoy you then jump ship now. Flip side the 7610 has only mono sound output, slow processor, only 7Mb internal memory, uses RSMMC data cards. Might be more stable but nobody could assure me of that (Nokia 6230 has required a number of software upgrades, which can involve returning to a Nokia shop).
