Two SMTP servers mapped to one email account?

E200 Orange

Operator 2.7.1.1

The problem I have is sending SMTP when using the cradle and pass through. When not using the cradle, I can send and receive no problem with the following settings:

POP3:

SMTP: smtp.orange.net

However, when docked, I can not longer send emails (receiving is still OK). This is obviously because the passthrough connection is going via my ADSL line which isn't on Orange, so the Orange SMTP server thinks "relay alert - disallow email" (presumably by detecting my PC's IP address).

Now the options as I see it are:

1. When docking the E200, change the SMTP to smtp.easynet.co.uk. Then, when undocking, change it back to smtp.orange.net. What a hassle! :P

2. If I want to send via the phone, always undock first and use valuable GPRS packets at Orange rip-off prices. :x

3. Write a plug in that detects the presence of the cradle and sets the SMTP server to smtp.orange.net if it's not there and smtp.easynet.co.uk if it is there. More hassle that option 1.

4. Find that handy tick box that says: "Hey you didn't RTFM, did you? What you want to do is tick here in this little screen tucked away under 15 layers of menus, and that'll sort you out very nicely indeed!" :)

5. Don't be so stupid as to send emails from the phone when it's attached to a PC, because isn't that what a PC is for?!

6. Fool the Orange SMTP servers into thinking I'm actually on their network directly. (I.e. spoof my IP.)

Option 4 is the best, but does it exist, or is there a better solution?
