Guest DenBoy Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 Hi All I have the Orange SPV C500 Unable to speed dial my Answer phone using the pre-defined/reseverd key 1. If you use the speed dial facility, the phone tries to make a call and reconises that its the answer phone it's trying to call. However there is no number in the dial box all i get is the + sign. Tried calling 123 and have set a new speed dial for the answer phone using key 2 etc... phone works fine. Spoke to Orange help and they said i needed to re-enter the answer phone number back into the speed dial. However I am unable to Edit answer phone value. And when trying to setup a new contact called answer phone I am unable to use key 1 because it's reserved.... Please help i'm now scratching me head and if i carry on i'll bald by the end of the week. :? :? :)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 Without having a C500 at hand, have you looked in SettingsTelephony (presuming it's the same or similar layout.
Guest I. C. Monsters Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 I'm having exactly the same problem. Check in Settings/Phone/Call Options - where there was no Answer Phone number specified. I filled this in, and it makes no difference. I am stuck with the '1' key being useless as a speed dial key. This is bugging me now. I. C. Monsters
Guest peanut Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 Same problem here, going to Orange shop today will ask there.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 Did you get a replacement SIM when you had your new phone? Just wondering if the problem is SIM related rather than phone :? As far as I am aware the phone reads the SIM to get the answerphone number.
Guest DenBoy Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 Hi All May have solved the problem... This is assuming your on Orange. Leading on from what I. C. Monsters was saying i did the following: >Start >Settings >Phone >Call Options and entered in Voice Mail Number: 07973100123 or 123 I deleted the +44 before the number because with this in front all i kept getting was a dial tone. The Voice Mail Number is the number used by the reserved key 1. Hope it helps DenBoy :) :P :D
Guest I. C. Monsters Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 DenBoy, you've cracked it :) . I changed mine to just 123, and now it works. Many thanks to you all, I. C. Monsters.
