Guest Xenzo1990 Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 When purchasing a c500 i reccomend that you ask to turn it on, and I also reccomend you check that light sensor and the joystick out before purchase, saves a back trip.
Guest foxy11 Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 and check for dead pixels... unlike i did :), had no probs changing it tho.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 Strange title to the post :? I've edited the title to a more sutable one.
Guest foxy11 Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 what was the title before?? Something like "the right....."
Guest rhaleuk Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 Hes right. Mine has a dead pixel and Im betting they are sold out when i get back. Heres hoping.
Guest ddmf Posted August 22, 2004 Report Posted August 22, 2004 so a dodgy joystick is to be expected - mine almost got punted through a window earlier as the down button is buggered!
Guest farker Posted August 22, 2004 Report Posted August 22, 2004 when I picked up mine on the friday 2 days after the release on wednesday they said not to switch on the phone until my old one lost service(something to do with problems registering the new phone).... I wonder if this had anything to do with dodgy phone and getting them out the door???? Turned out that my phone is ok as far as joystick and no dead pixels
Guest ddmf Posted August 22, 2004 Report Posted August 22, 2004 it's to do with sim/imei registration (the not turning the phone on bit) - i shouldn't think it really matters, but i suppose if you've got the phone on, you'd have to reset it to show the network anyway!? btw, please do check the phone, my joystick was buggered, so i went for a jaunt to the orange shop for a swapout, now, can they just give you a replacement phone and you keep the battery? nope, i had to wait 45 sodding minutes whilst the woman (who didn't look at all happy to swap the phone, probably due to the lack of commision) had to phone orange to sort it out. They had to replace the sim and the phone, and due to the age old computer problem - my sim hasn't been activated yet, this is what, 9 hours later - if it's not activated by the morning then i'm screwed as i rely on my mobile for business use... :x
