"Upgrade" options. Which one to choose?

Hi,

I have an e200 on contract (£15 a month) since May. I want a c500.

I have phoned Orange to see what my options are and they are as follows:

1. Upgrade my phone on my current tarriff. Costs £250. F*ck off! (With the depest respect).

2. Buy out my contract totally. £135. I could then pick up a new c500 free on a £25 a month tarriff. I think I might be able to trade an old T610 handset I have (no box, manual, charger, just handset) for £50, plus give my friend's orange number which means I get another £25. So that would effectively mean the upgrade would cost me £60, but I'd have to change number, which I really don't want to do.

I could also wait for them to be available SIM free - but that costs £290 on expansys, so a standard upgrade would be better.

I've got a terrible feeling I'm gonna have to stick with my (good!) e200 for at least a few months! But I want a c500!

Anyone got any suggestions?!
