is there a application lock on the C500, if so how do you remove it?

Yep, there is, and you can remove it the same way as with SPV, E100, E200 on the orange website :)

The OTA application unlock worked fine on my C500 which I got this morning. First I connected to the net on the C500 to make sure it was working. I then accessed the OTA page using IE on my PC with my firewall/ad blocking software switched off (instead of in Firefox just in case there were any problems with that browser). I also made sure I entered the IMEI number which is displayed when you enter *#06# on the phone since this has 2 more digits than the one on the box. About a minute after submitting the request the C500 connected to GPRS and unlocked itself.

my c500 was already unlocked (decerted).. it just asks before running a program 4 the first time 'do u trust the program...??'

I must admit I didn't try running any programs before I unlocked the phone.

from what i rember of the e200 i had, you get a certain amount of access by default on the phone, but running the unlock from the site totally unlocks the phone for applications.
