Hey all, i got this little annoying problem i cant fix. Maybe you have an idea.

The problem :

I used Jeyo personalizer to install the water.hme file as homescreen on my SPV E200. It worked perfectly but now i cant remove it.

In the phone's settings -> Remove programs it is stated as "Theme Generator water" but when i click it i get an alert telling me the theme could not be removed.

In ActiveSync the item is also listed and cant be removed either.

Ohw , i dont use the theme so its not in use or something.

I have rebooted the phone already and it didnt help.

Anybody any ideas on how to remove it ?

thx in adv

I would suggest installing it again by copying the .hme over by ActiveSync to Storage Windows Start Menu Accessories.

Then Start (Programs menu), go to the Accessories folder and click on the .hme icon to install.

Then uninstall using ActiveSync or the phone's Settings tool. Don't change the Homescreen before you uninstall.

Reboot and delete the skin's folder in Storage Windows AppMgr.

You should be rid now :)

Is there no 'manual-hardcore-way' to deal with this problem ? like messing around in the registry or manualy remove some files ?

well the installed programs list is in... Local_Machinesecurityappinstall i think its locked down by default, so you need a clever registry editor to remove it.

i have found that when i had issues removing a theme it was because one of the files was in use by the OS so i had to work out the registry key that was in use, change it to point to another file, and i think maybe ever reboot, then the OS would let go of the file and the uninstall would work. To do this i deleted the theme filles one-by-one until i found the file that was locked, i knew which registry entry was using it so it was a simple matter (for me) to remove it.

I would say the easier route would be to install another theme over the top and hope it changed the registry key.

you might want to try changing the theme with Theme Changer, if your lucky when it changes the theme it will correct the registry entry. but that is a long shot.

you might just have to live with it i'm affraid.
