Going to try tomorrow.

My beemer has the parrot kit, seems ok, but still reduced functionality.

My mate has the original BMW BT kit, I will be testing it tomorrow. I will post when I find out.

I dought they will do the charging cradle yet, the list was limited anyway.

Got my C500 today :)

Got the bluetooth activesync working with a bit of faff (note remove the Virtual Bluetooth COM port software if it's installed). :P

But the Bluetooth kit in the BMW does not find the phone :D

Press the button in car, turn the key it says BT PAIRING then nothing.

I have the phone set to discovery mode.... Can anyone help otherwise will end up having to swap sim's before driving anywhere, not exactly ideal.

I will try BMW and post any findings, if anyone has any ideas please post them here.

I also have an bmw and the c500 works. I do pairing exactly as described in the booklet. The only thing that don't work is the adress book. You can transffer it to the carkit but when you open it, it disapeared? Steeringweel buttons do work. You can call with you phone and when the oder person ansers to phone goes handsfree by the carkit

Did you force a connection from the Phone to the Car, through device discovery?

And to make calls you have to use the phone, but the buttons work answer and ending calls?

I think it's a bit rubbish that the standard address book does not work as this has worked for T68i and Nokia 6310 without problem. Is this an SPV thing or just the BMW?

I now have it working by forcing the connection from the SPV to the car.

I think the BMW is not advertising itself as a car kit, but as a headset. The symbol I got on this phone and the Nokia before showed it as a headset.

Perhaps BMW will do an upgrade at the next service! NOT.

I'm having the same issues,

It work as hands free but will not read the contacts off the SIM card. The car kit has no problems with other phones.

My Car kit was installed in September of this year by a BMW authorised Dealer so I assume the car is update.

I wondered if unlocking the phone would help the car kit to read the SIM. I think that there must be some security in the phone blocking the SIM being read. (Unless other car kit can do this).

The phone is on 4.1.1.4

I'm also talking to orange re this problem

I previously had an E200 and that would not pair at all.

I did see a post on this or another site that stated something along the lines of the BMW car kit was using Bluetooth version 1 and the C500 was bluetooth version 2, but I have been unable to confirm this. This couldf make some sense as the posting also stated that Sony used bluetooth Version 1 in their phones and I have found these provide the best levels of integration.

I did the recent update to the phone hoping that would solve the problem, but alas it did not.
