Very poor battery life - someone tell me this one's faulty!

I picked up my C500 on Wednesday evening. It seemed to have a fully charged battery when I got it, but I put it on charge overnight anyway, to be certain. In the first day (taken off charge at about 8:30am) I used the phone a lot, mostly fiddling with settings, playing the odd music video and some GPRS usage. By 4pm, the battery was flat. That evening I gave the phone a full charge. Experimented with bluetooth a bit (that's another post entirely  ), then went to bed at approx 1am, with three bars remaining. This morning, only one bar of battery left!

This can't be right. This C500 has worse battery performance than my first SPV. Can anyone recommend what I do about this? I ported my number from pay as you go, so I am not entitled to the 14 day returns. But, this seems like a fault to me. Any suggestions? :?

I got my phone yesterday and charged it for 3 hours as the manual says. After that I have been fiddling with the phone to find out all the new features and have made 49:28 of calls. My battery is now reported as having 72% charge in SP Task Manager which seems pretty good to me. Note that I haven't used Bluetooth at all.

Mine came fully charged, and hasn't been charged for more than 3 hours tops since Tuesday lunchtime, and it hasn't gone below 80%

I'm on a course, so not using it as much as I would normally, but I was starting to think the battery meter was just a gif!

At the end of the day, a battery can be changed, but, heres my status.

Ive been on GPRS, bluetooth lots, playing lots of games & music since 3Pm yesterday, left on all night, its on 40%. I expect the battery levels will even out on my second charge.

Do you think it would be worth getting the handset replaced also? Just in case there's a fault with that which is causing a power drain.

Just an idea.

Well, when its on standby the c500 is great, when using gprs/games etc it goes down how you expect it to. I left mine on all night last night and it was the same percentage when I woke up. Its on 33% now. Im gonna do my second charge then test it fully and if it goes down asooner than it should, im gonna order a new battery.
