General software compatibility?

Having heard of one user killing their phone by installing an app is there any general rules about what software will and won't work with the C500? DOes everything that runs on the E200 or E100 run on the C500 or do I need to be careful? Anyone come across any specific apps that cause problems and/or don't work?
