How to configure o2 xphone

I recently purchased a o2 Xphone in Hong Kong and sucessfully inserted my uk o2 sim card. However on return to uk I find that I cannot read e-mails or get on the internet. I have since taken a contract out with Vodafone Uk and I can use use my xphone as a normal phone with the vodafone sim but I still cannot get access to the internet and read my pop3 emails. Can anyone help. I think that the xphone is very similar to the orange E200
