Guest rav1patel Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 is there not an easier way to close applicatoins then going to accessories and then to the task manager. although my c500 blitzes my old 6600, at least that had a nice shortcut for this where you just hold down the menu key for the task manager.
Guest zeta101 Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 theres an app called xbar, its kinda like ALT+TAB on a pc, so you can switch between apps, and you can also close all current apps. Xbar1 is free but you ahve to pay for xbar2 which is a major upgrade of xbar1. with xbar2 you just hold in the action button on the scroller for about 1 second and it pops up. however there is currently a bug with xbar2 and the c500 (which is to be expected)...normally i used to load up xbar and press the number 2 and it closes all apps, but that doesnt wor anymore...a work around is to press 1 instead, this closes all apps except the one you current have in focus. anyway, have a look: http://xetranet.free.fr/xbar2/?lang=eng&pr...ge=Presentation
Guest rav1patel Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 it looks quite interesting? but i cant see the free version to try out?
Guest rav1patel Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 thanks for the tip by the way zeta.

Guest fozzie Posted August 22, 2004 Report Posted August 22, 2004 however there is currently a bug with xbar2 and the c500 (which is to be expected)...normally i used to load up xbar and press the number 2 and it closes all apps, but that doesnt wor anymore...a work around is to press 1 instead, this closes all apps except the one you current have in focus. That's not a bug at all - RTFM! Key presses are different for Xbar2. A short press of '1' closes all apps, less selected. A long press of '1' closes all apps. It's working perfectly on my C500 (less the temperature reading).
Guest zeta101 Posted August 22, 2004 Report Posted August 22, 2004 what version are you using fozzie? i couldnt get the latest (2.3) to work, it would give error messages when i pressed 1, so i had to revert to a previous version that still used the 2 key (v2.1 i believe). Ill have to try again if it works for u as it might have just been a glitch in the install. ravi, xbar1 is the only free version, there isnt a free trial of xbar2, here is xbar1: http://xetranet.free.fr/spv/xbar/ (ps, telecharger is french for donwload :))
Guest fozzie Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 V2.3 Build Aug 3 2004, working fine.
