Guest traesdad Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 I have an SMT 5600....will the reset process work with it? I have tried many times following directions to the letter and can't seem to get it to do this....advice.....read entire thread already and can't seem to locate direction...thanks a ton for this thread and the entire group God save the king
Guest squall Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 yes it will work. Timing is awkward. you could also use the clear storage option from the accessories folder (if your phone has it)
Guest LHospita1 Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 I have the 5600, will those apps such as Photo Album or Photo Contacts be there after hard reset? How about the mMode?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 They should be there and mMode should definately be there. If a standard application is removed by a hard reset then the app can be found on the cd that came with the phone.
Guest LHospita1 Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 the "apps" folder on my 5600 oem cd is empty... i mean the folder is there, but nothing inside.
Guest travisb Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 I need to do a Hard Reset for the first time after CoPilot crashed my phone once too often for it's liking. Quick question. As most of my apps are installed on the SD card, how does the hard reset affect them, seeing as the card isn't wiped?
Guest Brody Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 You'll need to reinstall the ones that make registry changes upon installation...
Guest Confucious Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 If you copy your start menu before you do the hard reset it makes life easier - otherwise none of your apps will show and you either have to re-install them all or at least recreate the start menu. HTH
Guest travisb Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 Reset went smoothly with no apparent disasters (that I can tell!). Now have to see if its made CoPilot behave itself
Guest RT87 Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 Just had to do this now, phone wouldnt boot up after I installed the xmas homescreen and deleted an old one... lost my contacts by the sounds of it.
Guest fozzie Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 ... lost my contacts by the sounds of it. Â  Â  Just re-sync your phone with your PC and your contacts will all be back; the beauty of ActiveSync :)
Guest BEARSUE Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 ALL HAIL PEANUT YOUR A LEGEND THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE REGARDS THE BEAR :( 8) :)
Guest slamming_sammy1 Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 thanks Peanut!! works great for me - I have a Audiovox smt5600 and it kept rebooting itself after some java game crashed it and I had to do a Hard Reset and ran across this thread and I figured I just try your instruction, and it worked great.
Guest smt5600user Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 I interupted ActiveSync 3.8 and my Audiovox SMT5600 froze. The Power button did nothing. Removing and replacing the battery caused the phone to freeze on the "Audiovox" boot-up screen. I followed your instructions and they worked as advertised. Fortunately, I have a backup of all my data, but now I'm worried that this could happen again. Why does Microsoft suck?
Guest joliver Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 Works fine with de T-Mobile SDA Business, Thanks at all...
Guest ga!nusha Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 it's also called "cold reset"
Guest steve_hocking Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Having being buggering around with new home screens I seem to have buggered a bit too far... So I tried hard-resetting and it wouldn't. Then I remembered I had the free 16mb mini-sd card Orange are supplying with crap trial software. As soon as I removed this it was all sorted!!!

Guest smt_5600er Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 I am sure I am not the first one to have this problem. I was trying to removed a theme that i had installed. the phone said it will remove some files when i reboot the phone. so i did, now its stuk on the audiovox boot screen...!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111~~~~~~````````` HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!>
Guest smt_5600er Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 i resolved my issue. i had to hold the softkeys down and power up.
Guest pierre Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Hi, anyone knows how does Sprite act? Does it backup everything really? Because if it's the case, a hard reset should not make a difference if we put everything back like before with Sprite.
Guest motorolampx200 Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 I have unlocked my C500 through c500-unlocker but will my phone be locked again when I hard reset the phone? Anyone?
Guest squall Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 i assume you sim unlocked via imei-check.co.uk or similar, Sim unlock will stay through hard resets, and rom updates
