sim unlock spv c500

Hi all i'm new here... today i decided to buy my first smartphone so i decided to buy the spv c500... it's fine and also it works pretty good but when i tried to insert my vodafone sim card it didn't work.... so i searched around and google and i found that this phone is "sim locked"

i just would like to know if i can remove this protection

and if yes how can i do this?

The only way of unlocking a C500 is through Orange which means paying off your account. Presently there is no other method available.

It probably will not take long before an unlock method is available

but it will probably be a charge for it.

so i'm from italy but i bought this phone in swiss.... in italy this phone isn't and never will be avaible so if u say that the only way to unlock it is to pay something to orange i'll do this but please tell me how.... i MUST sim unlock this phone or when i'll be back in italy i'll not be able to use it!!!

How did you get the phone. Did you purchase it with a contract with Orange or did you buy the phone separately from a private seller ?

I was going to say that if you had entered a contract and were paying the monthly subscription anyway then it might be worth just paying off the contract.

BUT you bought the phone without a contract at an Orange shop :? Did you pay full price for the phone ? Was it a prepay SIM ?

i bought it with a prepayd sim.... what do u need to know this for?

i just need to sim unlock my phone because in my country (where i live not where i bought the phone) orange doesn't exist

There is still not a way to SIM unlock the phone apart from asking Orange to do it.
