Guest aemilia86 Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 ive looked through the site and i wasnt too sure where my problem would fit so thought id make a new topic! im not very computer literate either so i dont know some of the technical words so ill try and explain as best i can! i got my MPx200 about 3 weeks ago and im seriously considering sending the damn thing back! the activesync thing isnt working at all so instead of having a standard partnership i decided id go with a guest one so i could transfer files and get ringtones and the like. i looked at the thread on converting mp3's to .wav format and i have managed to do that but when i try to put it on my phone it messes up. either my phone will disconnet of its own accord before the transfer has finished or it will transfer and insted of being in .wav format it is that icon that is just a white background with the windows flag thing on it and the properties say it is a shortcut. when i try to reconnect my phone to my pc it doesnt work at all, i have to reboot my computer and try and do everything really fast before it disconnects again, and i never manage to do it! you guys relly know what you're doing so do you reckon you can help? thanks
Guest martin Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 Very strange :? Check the write protect tag on the SD card and make sure it's not set to locked and then you could try downloading SmartExplorer from www.binarys.com and re-formating the SD card. If you have installed lots of progs, wavs, homescreens etc to the phone memory then try deleting some of these. It might be worth giving your phone a complete hard reset.
Guest aemilia86 Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 somehow my phone is now accepting ringtones and actually stays connected! have no idea what i did differently but it seems to work now thanks for your help
