SPV C500 SENDING EMAIL PROBLEM

I have set up my ntlworld email account on my phone but can only send messages to other ntlworld accounts.

If I try to send to hotmail or my work address, the phone says that these are invalid.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
