We heard about some problems with GAPI on the C500, causing some games and video apps to not run.

Could someone tell us if PocketTV Classic 0.14.15 (the latest, free from www.pockettv.com ) works on the C500 ?

You can download some test MPEG files from www.pockettv.com/mpg/sp

Thanks for your feedback.

I'm using it, it seems fairly laggy, to be honest, runs around 9 frames per second, but seeing as ive never used a smart phone before, only the Pocket PC version, i'm not sure if thats bad.

There is a bundle of problems with the menus not showing up sometimes, especially when you first load, but they appear once you hit a softkey, so i guess ive just worked around them!

Yes, this slow performance problem is caused by the GAPI issue, and Betaplayer has the same issue (we are working with them toward a solution).

Normally you should get nominal fps (i.e. 24 fps) with all streams encoded at Smartphone resolution (e.g. this test stream). That's what you get with all other smartphones.

The 9 fps was with a stream coded at what resolution ?

IT was an episode of the simpsons, at 514x384. Which makes sense! using the test streams i get 24/25 ish.. which makes a lot of sense!

The menus turning the picture purple while it thinks for a bit still happens, though!

Whow... the fact that you manage to get 9fps with a 514x384 MPEG is very impressive! I would have thought you'd get 2 or 3 fps.

Interesting... we'll investigate that. It may be related to the GAPI issue.

Can you try playing a QVGA stream like http://pockettv.com/mpg/officexp_320x240.mpeg on your C500 ?

We'd like to know the fps you get with this one in fullscreen. For that, de-select "Repeat", make sure "Fast Video" is selected in Options > Settings, rotate to Fullscreen (press OK) and play (left soft-key for Play/Pause) until the end in fullscreen, then look of the fps on the display.

Could someone help us improve the performances of PocketTV on the C500 ?

If you are willing to help us:

1) Please install PocketTV Classic 0.15.1 on your C500 (this is our latest version, not yet officially released).

2) Please send us a PM (Private Message). Please include your email, and we'll send you instructions for generating the log file we need.
