sync contacts subfolders

i just got a c500, my first smartphone, i've looked for an answer to this question on the forum but couldn't find it, apologies if i should have

is there any way to sync subfolders in contacts?

or do i have to copy all my contacts up to the top level?

In Activsync under Options, highlight Contacts and click on Settings, there you can choose to sync individual contacts

or from selected categories.

am i right in thinking that means i CANNOT sync subfolders, but must move all contacts into the top level contacts folder, where i can then select individual contacts or categories?
