Guest chucky.egg Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 Er, stupid question, but how do I turn Caller Photo ID off? I was playing around with it, and have removed the photo that I associated with one contact, but it still comes up with the default screen when a call is received. How do I turn it off altogether?
Guest Phil Lee Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 Try going to Start > Orange > Caller Photo ID then select Menu > Options > General and untick "Display photo during incoming or waiting call."
Guest chucky.egg Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 Hmm, that chaged it, but now I just get a white screen with a big "Incoming" message and the phone number underneath I ca't actually remember what it used to look like!
Guest Phil Lee Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 Just tried ringing my phone. For a phone number that doesn't exist in the phone you get a white screen saying Incoming with the number displayed and an orange graphic which is defined under Menu > Options > Set Default Photo. For a contact with no photo it says Incoming, Contact Name, Number with the default graphic.
Guest chucky.egg Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 That's what I'm getting too, but it looks different to before I turned Caller Photo ID on... I can't really remember what it looked like though! Thanks Phil
Guest Phil Lee Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 I can't see any way to turn it off completely. There is a system process called IA_Caller_ID running on my phone which I guess controls everything. Looking in Windows there is a program called IA_CID_StartUp.exe. I suspect this is what starts the IA Caller ID when the phone powers up. IA_CID_StartUp.exe is also in StorageWindowsStartUp which is how it is started automatically.
