Guest Dr Who Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 Very easy. Just select the SPV in My Bluetooth places, view services which opens the Dial-up Networking and Open. All good. However you have to have the Orange extra dialling string added (sorry can't remember the syntax  ) in Settings>Contol Panel>Phone and Modem Options> select the bluetooth modem and in there is the tab for the extra dialling string. Worked first time after that. Shame no EDGE support though.
Guest cosmoOo Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 hmm, I cannot get it to work the string I use is +cgdcont=1,"IP","internet","",0,0 With my PC I get a connection but not a GPRS connection (2 arrows) so a normal data connection. With my pocketpc I cannot get a connection at all, if I use my old phone (nokia 8910) I have a gprs connection in no time. ActiveSync (bluetooth) works fine (even internet passthru).
Guest Dr Who Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 OK, I vaguely remember the string having 'Orange' in it somewhere. If you search the E200 forum there is a post on using the E200 as a modem via bluetooth that on the second or third page has the correct string. Once you have set your phone bluetooth to 'discoverable' all I did was right-click the bluetooth icon on my laptop and went to dial-up networking, connect. This connected the modem but then I was getting errors when connecting to the GPRS connection. Having changed the modem string it all worked. Maybe there is a function in settings on the phone for how to handle a modem connection, i.e. orange gprs, orange WAP, HSCD?
Guest Chic0 Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 Anyone managed to get modem over bluetooth working with a Mac? Can't get it to dial up at the moment :-(
