Black C500 v Silver C500

What's your preference?

I have the black one, bcoz I'm too poor to sign up for a premium tariff, & I actually prefer it to the silver.

The design of the phone itself is quietly smart & elegant but wont win many design awards. The black version makes it stand out from the normal silver crowd. Only problem I encounter is it shows up greasy fingerprints too easily.

The wife thinks it looks boring & is still bugging me to change it for that new Nokia, which I personally hate the design (loud & supposedly trendy) that will date after Xmas.

Still trying to get my brain around that MS operating system :x . Infact I'm gonna ask a whole heap of questions in another thread.

I thought I wanted the silver but having got it in black (but not having seen silver) it looks really, really nice. I was considering the Nokia 7610 (is that the one you mean?) but the massively increased spec of the C500 over any Nokia phone convinced me. My missus is slowly coming round to the charms of the C500, although she was going to swap it in for the Nokia the other day.

Same here, I really really wanted the sliver one, but now I've got the black one, you couldn't pay me to have a sliver one.... the black one looks great and the feel of it is like pure quality.

Black for me too! The black makes it stand out from the crowd. Have you noticed that televisions are moving away from silver too! Marketing cycles, always come full circle. Well impressed with the phone - feels well put together too.

love the black version but as stated shows up fingerprints really easy. also the slightest scratch to the case takes the black off leaving an ugly silver mark. :)

After looking at all the black ones on ebay and thinking "nice", I came across a silver one and thought "Very Nice".

Since Orange are offering both for the same price I have to make a difficult decision.

I had the silver one, returned it due to dust on the screen. It was replaced with a black one, which I do prefer!!!

The silver one is actually a light grey plastic sprayed silver where as the black one is all black plastic. Ive seen both and do prefer the retro black one (as it's the one I own).

Yes, I dropped my black C500 (oops!) and the small scratch was silver. I don't think that it is solid black plastic.

Actually, I've dropped it a few times on to hard surfaces - seems to hold up better than my T610 did (dropping phones seems to be a bad habit of mine), and that was pretty well put together.

Silver for me :D

It's only the back of the phone that is plastic as the front is metal as the small dent in mine shows :D

ALL c500 have metal front made of some molded alloy. The black ones are painted black and the silver ones are painted silver (obviously...) if you scratch a black phone the silverish metal alloy underneath the paint appears. for the silver ones you will not notice the scratch because it has almost same color as the paint.

usually dirt accumulates in small scratches and the silver on black effect will go off soon. I still like the black one more since it looks even smaller (because of the dark color) and it is different to the boring silver trend on the market.

U're rite as long got the Mobile phone SPV C500 lol and i love this fone better than SPV E200 :D

i got both Black and silver in one mobile fone

i brought was Blank SPV C500 off Ebay

and also

i brought off from Ebay Silver Fascia

I've replace by plastic card and unscrew metal thing for keypad and change to make from black to Silver Fascia look nice but i need the back of side its black so i need silver that all i need its would have look full Silver all over the mobile nice look and if im fed up with same silver that i can go back to Black Fascia 8)

i hope in near future they company make muilt colour just like Nokia Fascia

The black looks better due to the black and silver contrast on the keys. The silver one is just a lump of silver which doesn't work as well imo.
