Video capture modes

Just wondering if anyone would like to share their experiences of the various video capture codecs.

Personally, I find the h.263 the worse quality, the mpeg4 has smaller file sizes, but the framerate isn't quite as good as the motion-JPEG AVI codec, which seems to produce the best results but at the expense of larger file sizes.

Opinions wanted please :)

Same.

Equally interested to see if any way to optimise as the dropped frames is a big turn off.
