Guest Chaser81 Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 I have an SPV C500 and I recently purchased a 256MB mini SD card for it. All was well until I put the card into its adaptor and tried to get my PC to read it. The PC (running Windows XP Pro) proclaimed that "The card was not formatted" and asked if I wanted to format it. Okay, I thought, go ahead. The format failed dismally and then the card could not be read by either the PC or my SPV. In desperation, I got ahold of a piece of software for formatting SD cards inside the SPV, and ran that. Thankfully, it worked and my card seems to be okay again, but the PC still wont run it as it says it isnt formatted. Any ideas?
Guest rikwebb Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 You should never format a flash memory card with XP, it formats it to the wrong file system. XP should read the card with its correct format, try another card reader, and then another PC. Rik
Guest squall Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 Or download taskmanager from www.binarys.com there is an option to format the sd card. Posted from my SmartPhone!
